The discovery of large-scale line splitting over the giant H II region IC 1318

Abstract
Splitting of 40 km/s of the [N II] line has been found over areas, ≃ 10 pc across, of the giant H II region IC 1318. This is similar to large-scale motions within several other H II regions and an expanding, neutral and ionized shell, driven by stellar winds is proposed to explain it.
