Le choc anaphylactique du coq. Rôle de l'histamine dans son déterminisme (Part 1 of 2)

Abstract
Data for rooster and chick on the histamine content of various organs, and a description of histamine shock. The species is very sensitive. Hypotension may develop with doses as small as 1 [mu]g/kg. Similar symptoms are elicited with histamine releasing substances such as "48/80" (formaldehyde condensation product of p-methoxy-N-methyl phenethylamine) and peptone. Symptoms of anaphylactic shock were observed after intravenous challenge 14 days after sensitizing injection. They resemble those of histamine shock and are counteracted by antihistaminics.
