Neurocirculatory Asthenia versus Anxiety NeurosisTHE constellation of symptoms called neurocirculatory asthenia (NCA) is frequently encountered in medical practice, but despite its prevalence it is still a source of much argument and confusion. Extensive clinical and laboratory investigations have resulted in data that are inconsistent and controversial. Some recent reports1 2 3 4 have stressed the opinion that NCA is identical with "anxiety neurosis."§ We believe this to be an unsound postulate and will attempt in the present paper to clarify our views.
