Abstract
A unified, constructive approach to the symmetry properties of non-rigid molecules is outlined and the relation of the formalism to the permutation-inversion, isometric and isodynamic theories is discussed. The formulation of the molecular symmetry group as a semi-direct product is considered and isodynamic operations are defined as generalizations of the conventional Wigner vibrational symmetry operations. Keywords
