Abstract
To the Editor: The review article by Kaplan on acute fatty liver of pregnancy (Aug. 8 issue)1 provided valuable information on this uncommon but potentially fatal disorder. We noted especially the importance the authors attached to correct early diagnosis in the hope that this might lead to early delivery and decrease the mortality associated with fatty liver of pregnancy. The text, however, did not mention the use of the newer imaging techniques, such as computed tomography (CT), ultrasonography, and magnetic resonance imaging, in the diagnosis of fatty infiltration of the liver.
