Abstract
Recent work on the construction of collective identities has produced rich analyses of ethnic and national collectivities, but the construction of collective class identities has received less attention. In this article I focus on the interplay of economic, political, and symbolic forces in the construction of collective class identities in the citrus industry of Belize, examining the intersection of these forces with racial‐ethnic and national collectivities and their mobilization to contest the direction of economic development in the industry. Keywords
