Abstract
The adrenal weight and corticosteroid concentration were found to increase in vitamin A- and riboflavin-deficient chicks. Supplementation of ascorbic acid to the diet reduced the adrenal weight in both types of birds, decreased the steroid concentration in riboflavin-deficient chicks but increased the concentration in avitaminotic A chicks. Marked involution of the bursa Fabricii was observed in the chicks during the period in which they suffered from vitamin A and riboflavin deficiencies. Keywords
