Abstract
Using 19 White Leghorn hens, 88.5-93.8% of the circulating glucose was found in the plasma. Androgen injection into 7 hens reduced the whole blood sugar from 172 mg% to 151 mg%. Plasma sugar level in both groups was approximately 250 mg%. The difference in whole blood sugar values was shown to be the result of the red blood cells increasing action of androgen. Keywords
