Abstract
Summary: The Yons Nab Beds at Yons Nab consist of twenty-five feet of marine sandstone and shale possessing a rich lamellibranch fauna. A newly-described marine sequence overlying the Millepore Bed at Cloughton Wyke is correlated with these beds. The minor marine transgression they represent died out just north of Cloughton Wyke, and was associated with the main transgression of the Millepore Bed below, but did not extend so far northwards. The absence at Osgodby Nab of the Yons Nab Beds is considered to be due to the presence of a delta distributory producing a change in facies. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
