Abstract
Oöthecae, ovarioles, and male uricose glands of cockroaches collected in Brazil and Thailand were studied. The oöthecae of 72 species are illustrated for the first time. At oviposition, the water content of the oöthecae of Blaberidae is 50%. Male uricose glands occur commonly in many Plectopterinae and Blattellinae, and in some Epilamprinae. At oviposition, the maximum number of oöcytes containing yolk in Zone V per ovariole is 2 in Blattidae and Polyphagidae, 1 or 2 in Blattellidae, and 1 in Blaberidae. The presence or absence of male tergal glands was determined for about 90 genera and about 284 species (museum specimens) of Blaberidae. Tergal glands occur in relatively few genera of blaberids and when present are located on the anterior tergites of some Epilamprinae and Oxyhaloinae. Keywords
