Abstract
An indication of the present-day occurrence of cavitating primary pulmonary tuberculosis in the European infant is given. Some of the factors tending to promote progression of the primary tuberculous focus in the lung are mentioned. A series of 27 cases of cavitating primary pulmonary tuber-culosis in African infants less than two years of age is presented with special reference to the radiological findings. The more important conditions to be considered in the radiological differential diagnosis are mentioned.
