Abstract
New adducts of KrF2 with AsF5, SbF5, and PtF5 are shown by 19F n.m.r. and Raman spectroscopy to be the ionic compounds KrF+MF6 –(M = As, Sb, or Pt), KrF+Sb2F11 –, Kr2F3 +MF6 –(M = As or Sb), and Kr2F3 +MF6 –,nKrF2(M = As or Sb); the gross structure of the new cation, Kr2F3 +, has been established and appears to be similar to that of Xe2F3 +; the new cation, BrF6 +, has also been prepared by oxidation of BrF5 with Kr2F3 +.Keywords
