Abstract
The time-dependent behavior of a model spin system which might represent certain properties of alternating copolymers is studied. This model is an extension of the kinetic Ising model of Glauber to a system in which the strengths of interactions between neighboring spins alternate. The exact stationary and time-dependent solutions for the average spin and spin-pair correlations are obtained for this system. It exhibits two relaxation times, in contrast to the Glauber model; this feature may be relevant to the study of the time-dependent relaxation phenomena of the dipole moments in such polymers as ethylene-propylene copolymer. Keywords
