Brain Tumors

Abstract
The treatment of brain tumors usually begins with surgery for diagnosis or excision. Subsequent comprehensive care may involve cooperation between neurosurgeons, neurologists, neuroradiologists, neuropathologists, radiation therapists, and oncologists. Histologic features alone are not definitive in planning care; a benign tumor may not be resectable because of its adherence to the hypothalamus or other structures and may therefore be fatal, as is the case in some opticnerve and hypothalamic gliomas.
