Abstract
A simple expression for the excitation cross sections and excitation rates of hydrogen-like ions is presented. A combination of Coulomb-Born and Born approximation calculations have been parameterized. The expression for the excitation cross section is continued below threshold in order to estimate electron capture cross sections. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
