Effect of chlorpromazine on the respiration and hexose monophosphate dehydrogenases of gram-negative bacteria

Abstract
The drug chlorpromazine inhibits respiration in several gram-negative bacteria. The enzymes glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase from these microorganisms are not affected by the drug.
