Circulation of Blood in Wings and Wing Pads of the Cockroach, Periplaneta Americana Linn

Abstract
It has been recognized for over a hundred years that blood (hemolymph) circulates within the insect body. One problem of circulation about which there yet seems to be a diversity of opinion is that of blood circulation in wing and elytron. This paper is a report of results obtained with a simple but effective method of studying the scheme of blood circulation in the elytra, wings and wing pads of the cockroach, Periplaneta americana.
