Abstract
The lifetimes of the 33S1 and 33DJ levels of the He atom were measured by means of the cascade-free beam-gas dye-laser method. The resulting lifetimes are 35.27+or-0.24 ns and 14.02+or-0.08 ns, respectively, where the uncertainties quoted correspond to one standard deviation. The results have been discussed in comparison with other experimental and theoretical work. Keywords
