Abstract
Summary In this report two viruses isolated from ticks of the genus Ornithodoros were identified and compared with other viruses isolated from argasid ticks. The first, isolated from Ornithodoros denmarki collected under rocks near nesting Gulls and Terns on Raza Island, Gulf of California, was shown to be the same as Hughes virus. The other was recovered from Ornithodoros capensis collected from a Noddy Tern (Anous stolidus) nest on Sand Island, Johnston Atoll, Central Pacific, and was similar to Quaranfil virus, an agent previously known only from Africa. Keywords
