Abstract
The necessary conditions for solid-phase radioimmunoassay (SPRIA) were developed for the detection of arenavirus antigens (Junin, Machupo, Tacaribe, Amapari and lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus). The SPRIA is > 100-fold more sensitive than the complement fixation test. The antigens could be detected by this method in various materials (mouse organs, human sera).
