Abstract
Rate constants have been determined by stopped-flow spectrophotometry, and mechanisms are deduced for the nitrosation of methanol by nitrous acid (and nitrosyl chloride in water) and for the reverse reaction, the hydrolysis (or denitrosation) of methyl nitrite.Keywords
