Interference with Bilirubin Excretion by a Gall-Bladder Dye (Bunamiodyl)

Abstract
PREVIOUS reports have summarized the results of thorough annual physical examinations and have reported on the value of various laboratory procedures in helping to establish diagnoses.1 , 2 As a result of these analyses, changes have been made from time to time in the laboratory procedures of our routine examinations. One of these changes included the addition of routine bilirubin determinations in asymptomatic persons. After the first 7 determinations it became obvious that total bilirubin determinations were above the generally accepted upper limit of normal of 1.0 mg. per 100 ml.3 Table 1 shows that the levels obtained were in the region of 1.1 . . .
