Abstract
We derive an analytical expression for the Green function of the helium atom, that is to say for the helium atom where the electron repulsion term has been neglected. It is outlined that this Green function may be used as a basis for a numerical iterative procedure to derive the exact eigenfunctions of the helium atom.
