Abstract
Counts of germinating weeds contained in soil samples from arable land were made during the 2 years after samples had been placed in frames in the open under field conditions. Spergula arvensis had a germination periodicity, the main germination occurring at the beginning of the rainy season, subsequent germinations depending on rainfall. Fresh seed started germinating quicker than seed which had survived field burial for 2 years; it apparently finished germinating in 2 years. Data were obtained for 2 other annual weeds. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
