Abstract
An experiment to control Laspeyresia pomonella (L.) by ♂ removal with sex pheromone traps was conducted for 3 yr in an isolated, 2-ha apple orchard. Traps were installed at a density of ca. 10/ha and were baited with one mg of trans-8, trans-10 dodecadien-l-ol. Male moths captured during the 3-yr period were 81, 27, and 32. The percent codling moth injured fruit was 0.03, 0.53, and 0.06. No codling moth sprays were necessary and the codling moth infestation did not exceed an acceptable commercial standard. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
