Abstract
Owing to the occurrence of allergic reactions Cerumenex and two similar products have been voluntarily withdrawn from the market. Feb. 19, 1960 To S. J. London, M.D. The Purdue Frederick Company New York, N.Y. I have received in the mail a letter which indicates that Cerumenex is still on the market. This is a bit surprising since I noted in theA.M.A. Newsrecently that Cerumenex had been removed from the market because of a number of hypersensitivity reactions. The reason I am writing you is because we have published in the A.M.A.Journal of Diseases of Childrenone article concerning adverse reactions to this product in our December issue, which incidentally I do not see listed in your references, and we have received a letter to the Editor concerning several more cases of adverse reactions to the product.
