Abstract
Neutron small angle and wide angle scattering measurements for supercritical Xe and CF3Cl have been performed along an isotherm. The structure factors S(Q) and neutron weighted radial distribution functions GN(r) for these systems and those previously reported for C02 fluid have been compared at the same reduced densities. The correlation length, which has a maximum at the critical density, showed very similar density dependence in these fluids. In particular, this finding, together with the structure factors of centre of mass and integrated coordination numbers, are examined in relation to the law of corresponding states which usually is discussed for PVT behaviour. The shape of the first peaks of the GN(r)'s was found to be nearly independent of the density along the isotherm. Keywords
