Abstract
Methyltrioxorhenium-catalyzed oxidation of benzaldehydes with hydrogen peroxide gives corresponding phenols in good yield. Benzaldehydes substituted with methoxy or hydroxyl groups at 2- and/or 4-position are good substrates for this reaction.Keywords
