Abstract
Several new neutral and cationic organometallic species with σ-bonds of the type [PdX (C6 Cl5) (PEt3)2] (X = Cl[sbnd], I[sbnd], NCS[sbnd], NCO[sbnd], 'N[sbnd], NO[sbnd], CN[sbnd], OC6 Cl5, C10[sbnd]), and [PdL(C6Cl5) (PEt3)2]C104 (L = py, α-pic, β-pic, γ-pic) have been prepared from [PdBr(C6Cl5) (PEt3)2]. The latter was obtained by reacting pentachlorophenyl-magnesium halide with [PdCl2(PEt3)2]. The diamagnetic character and PMR spectra of the new compounds are evidence for their trans square-planar geometry. The characterization of the new substances has been completed with the study of the IR spectra. Further, the action of HCl and Cl2 on the compounds has been investigated. Keywords
