Abstract
Asthma affects approximately 7% of adults in North America,1-4 and patients frequently present to the emergency department (ED) with acute asthma. They often exhibit features that place them at increased risk for complications and even death.5,6 Improved strategies to treat acute asthma and reduce relapses after ED visits are needed to improve patient quality of life6 and reduce societal costs associated with this disease.3,7Keywords
