Abstract
The alleged mammoth tusks which were trawled up off Shetland in the early 1930s have been reexamined. They are believed to be Recent elephant tusks. It is suggested that they originated from the cargo lost at sea by a ship of the Dutch East India Company in 1690.Keywords
