Distribution of Constitutive Heterochromatin in the Chromosomes of MSWBS Ascites Tumor Cells2

Abstract
The distribution of constitutive heterochromatin in the mouse ascites tumor line MSWBS was studied with different banding techniques. In addition to loss of heterochromatin in some biarmed and T chromosomes, 2 marker chromosomes—1 biarmed with centromeric and terminal heterochromatin, and 1 T chromosome with 4 blocks of heterochromatin—were detected. In situ hybridization studies did not indicate any gross change in the repetitive DNA in thistumor line.
