Abstract
Calculations show that the magnetic J×B and Magnus ρ (ξ×v) interactions between two force‐free plasma vortices exhibit a long range dipole‐dipole attraction, caused by their toroidal currents along with a strong short range repulsion due to their poloidal currents. This corresponds to their behavior. Keywords
