Abstract
Union of the distal tibial epiphysis which begins mediocentrally extends peripherally to completion in about 18 mo. During the period of partial union; the epiphysis is vulnerable to vertical fracture in its lateral 2/3; and most fractures occur at this time. Displacement is usually not very great. Fractures of the medial 1/3 of the epiphysis show little relation to the state of epiphyseal union and have a random age incidence. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
