Explanation of the RHIC p_T-spectra in a thermal model with expansion

  • 21 June 2001
Abstract
The freeze-out of the hadron gas on the hyper-surface tau^2= t^2-z^2-x^2-y^2 of limited transverse size, x^2+y^2 < (rho_max)^2, explains the recently-measured RHIC p_T-spectra to a surprising accuracy. The original thermal spectra are supplied with secondary decays of resonances, and subsequently folded with the expansion. The predictions of this simple model are in qualitative and quantitative agreement with the available data.
