Abstract
Synopsis: Further discoveries of Minicaris brandi, from the Namurian shales near Glasgow, provide an opportunity to understand more clearly the affinities of this syncarid crustacean. New morphological features, such as the transverse grooves and the lateral ridges on the thoracic somites, and the annulate and setose pleopods, suggests affinities with the Squillitidae. A reconstruction of M. brandi incorporating these new features is proposed.
