Abstract
The effect of chloramphenicol on chlorophyll synthesis of etiolated primary leaves of Phaseolus vulgaris L. var. ''Black Valentine'' was examined. The antibiotic inhibited the decrease in lag phase of chlorophyll accumulation that is brought about by a brief illumination followed Uy a prolonged dark period. Chloramphenicol was more effective in this action when applied at the beginning of the dark period, than at the end. This publication has 10 references indexed in Scilit:
