Abstract
The relationship between somatic symptoms, depression, and life events (health status, function, social satisfaction, income) was investigated in a population of 1201 elderly persons living at home. Depression was found to be the most important factor in the appearance of somatic complaints; however, life events are important cofactors in defining well-being.Keywords
