Abstract

The biosynthetic sequence trichodermol (2)→ 12,13-epoxy-4β,8-dihydroxytrichothec-9-ene (3)→ trichothecolone (4)→ trichothecin (5) in Trichothecium roseum has been established. Earlier evidence suggesting the intervention of crotocin (6) has not been substantiated.
