Abstract
Pontryagin's maximum principle is used to develop a method for solving several types of optimal control problems on the analog computer. In particular, this is applied to a third-order control system, and the results shown. The restrictions on the problem and the analog computer are shown, and a procedure for setting up and using the analog mechanization is given. Keywords
