Abstract
Auditory stimuli during the copulation period induce infertility and during gestation blockage of pregnancy. Male and female rats exposed to auditory stimuli for 9 days – prior to mating – become more or less sterile, the fertility decreases to 10-20 per cent, in comparison to 70-80 per cent in the controls. The deleterious effect is a reversible one. Auditory stimuli preceding copulation do not influence the sexual potency, nor do the females refuse the males. The spermatogenic process proceeds in an entirely normal fashion and in the ovaries no anatomical changes could be found to explain the infertility. Keywords
