The quantitative separation of the skeleton of small animals

Abstract
Studies of the action of papain and trypsin in proteo-lytically removing flesh from the skeleton of the rat were reported. Ca, P and Mg losses from the skeleton were negligible. After removing the hide and viscera, the carcass was immersed in boiling water for 2 min. and digested with enzymes for 4-6 hrs. at 37[degree]C.
