Abstract
An in vivo study of the effect of parathyroidectomy on the intestinal absorption of Ca by growing rats showed that parathyroidectomy did not appreciably affect net absorption at a dietary level of 1.2%, but that it significantly depressed absorption at levels of 0.6 and 0.3%. This observation was interpreted to mean that the parathyroid hormone is one of the factors involved in the phenomenon of adaptation to changing dietary intakes of Ca.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
