Abstract
Univalent antibody fragments directed against special membrane antigens dissociate multicellular bodies of the cellular slime mold Dictyostelium discoideum completely into single cells. This provides a gentle method for cell dissociation and demonstrates that a nonenzyme protein can disintegrate a tissue by binding to specific cell surface sites. Keywords
