Abstract
A thorough analysis of the semi‐classical and quantum‐mechanical hopping conduction model is made within the frame of the linear response theory. The approach differs in several respects from the previous ones. A deeper understanding of the conditions under which such a mechanism occurs is achieved from the quantum‐mechanics point of view. Keywords
