Abstract
Chest radiographs of 100 cases of proven sarcoldosls were examined and the presence of "A" lines (10%) and "B" lines (5%) noted. There were no "A" or "B" lines visable when the hilar nodes were enlarged and the lungs were normal. Lines were only present if there were lung changes. This association has apparently not been noted before. There is no evidence in the literature to suggest that the pulmonary lymphatics are distended in sarcoidosis. It is suggested that the most likely cause of "A" and "B" lines in sarcoidosis is not lymphatic distension but perilymphatic sarcold deposits. Keywords
