Abstract
Optical-absorption spectra of lightly doped trans-polyacetylene are studied theoretically within the Su, Schrieffer, and Heeger model and within the dilute-gas approximation for solitons. The present theory describes semiquantitatively the experimental results by Suzuki et al.Keywords
