Abstract
A self‐consistent approach is developed to investigate the possibility that the impurity distribution embedded in a one‐dimensional system becomes distorted with the wavevector 2kF (kF Fermi wave vector) as a result of the Peierls‐CDW (charge density wave) distortion. The properties of the double distorted state are obtained for both, T = 0 and T ≠ 0 (e.g. enhancement of both, the gap in the electron spectrum and the CDW effective mass). The conditions to have a state with 2kF‐double distortion are derived. The interplay between the 2kF‐regularity in the impurity distribution and the disorder effect usually associated with the latest is also discussed.
