Abstract
The effect of Cd2+ on rat phrenic nerve/hemidiaphragm (pn-d) preparations was studied. The phrenic nerve was stimulated by a bipolar electrode and muscle twitches recorded. Exposure to Cd2+ caused a dose-related inhibition in twitch tension. Cd2+ may interfere with the release of acetylcholine from motor nerve terminals in the pn-d preparations. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
