Abstract
Effective programs of public health nutrition require a complement of health workers well founded in nutritional knowledge and in its application. Since medical schools in general modified and adapted their curricula to encompass knowledge in the basic sciences and clinical specialties of medicine, the opportunities for the medical student to develop background of information and practical experience concerning diet and its modification for purposes of health or treatment of disease are decreasing. There is need for faculties of medical schools to develop and introduce new course material and learning experience into curricula si; that future physicians may effect leadership and wisdom in dealing with problems of diet and health. Keywords
